Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Gamesoup is a community for indie game developers to share their work, get feedback, and connect with players and other creators. These guidelines keep it a welcoming and productive space for everyone.

Be constructive

Feedback should help creators improve. Critique the work, not the person. Disagreements are fine; personal attacks are not.

Keep it safe for work

All content — devlogs, screenshots, profile images, comments — must be suitable for a general audience. No nudity, graphic violence, or adult content. Games with mature themes are welcome; explicit content is not.

No harassment

Do not target, bully, threaten, or repeatedly antagonise any user. This includes unsolicited messages, dogpiling, and coordinated attacks. If someone asks you to stop engaging with them, respect that.

No hate speech

Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or dehumanisation of people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics is prohibited.

No spam or self-promotion flooding

Share your work — that is what Gamesoup is for. But do not mass-post identical content, flood comments with promotional links, or use the platform primarily to drive traffic to unrelated products. Quality over quantity.

No scams or deceptive content

Do not impersonate other creators, misrepresent your game, run fake giveaways, or post phishing links. Honesty builds the trust the community depends on.

Respect intellectual property

Only post assets, code, and content you have the right to share. If you use third-party assets, credit them. Do not distribute pirated games, engines, or software tools.

No illegal content

Content that violates applicable law — including copyright infringement, CSAM, and the distribution of malware — is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the relevant authorities.

Reporting

If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Report button on any devlog, comment, or profile. Our moderation team reviews all reports and responds within 24 hours.

Enforcement

Violations may result in content removal, a warning, a temporary suspension, a permanent ban, or a shadow ban depending on severity. Repeat violations escalate automatically. Appeals can be submitted to moderation@gamesoup.gg.
